New Fitness Equipment at the YMCA of Central New York

Our members are going to see exciting changes at our Y branches in July as we roll out more than $1 million dollars in new fitness equipment!

We made this investment in response to feedback from you about needing updated equipment and resources to better support your health and wellness activities. We're continuing to partner with Precor, a leader in premium fitness solutions, to provide these new resources to our over 60,000 members.

Installation of the new equipment also provides us the opportunity to realign other equipment across the association. What that means is that you will see lots of activity over the next month during the installation process. We'll do our best to keep you informed about our activity to try and minimize disruptions to your workout. Here are several key dates coming up:

  • Northwest Family YMCA and North Area Family YMCA
Starting the week of July 15th: Equipment is scheduled for delivery. We're also working with Spectrum’s cable services to the equipment and anticipate that there may be a lapse in services while we're getting things up and running.

  • Hal Welsh East Area Family YMCA and Manlius YMCA
Starting the week of July 22nd:
Equipment is scheduled for delivery at both locations. We'll also be replacing carpet in the cardio room at the Hal Welsh East Area Family YMCA to keep our Y as clean and safe as possible.

  • Downtown YMCA
Our Downtown YMCA has been a busy place with our construction projects at the Downtown Men's Residence to improve and better serve men in transition in our community. During July, equipment and additional resources will be installed at the Downtown Y, and we'll share more information with you as those dates become available.

We also look forward to helping our members with use of the new equipment and resources. Our fitness staff will be happy to provide you with orientations to meet your needs.

We’ll continue to provide updates via social media, email and within our branches to let you know where we stand. Thank you for your patience throughout this process!
