Updates on Orange & Yellow Zone Designations for our Ys

Orange gradient

As you may have seen, state and local officials recently announced new orange and yellow zone designations for portions of Onondaga County. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to understand the impacts these designations will have on our association. Here’s what we know:

  • Orange Zone
    • Downtown YMCA
Our fitness operations will be available at a limited capacity starting Monday, December 14th. Our pool, gymnasium/basketball court, track, and racquetball courts continue to be available via reservation.

We also have a variety of live fitness classes available for all of our members via our Virtual Y.
  • Yellow Zone
    • Hal Welsh East Area Family, Manlius, and Southwest YMCAs
We must temporarily limit the capacity of all spaces and programs at these branches starting Wednesday, November 25th. Our reservation systems and signage will be updated to accommodate these changes.

    • Northwest Family and North Area Family YMCAs
These branches have been operating in yellow zones since November 11. There are no changes to current policies.

While this order does temporarily impact our fitness operations, we will continue to deliver mission-critical programs, such as our Men’s and Senior Residences and Child Care, as well as our virtual and outdoor options. We will continue to meet our members and neighbors where they need us most. You already know - the Y is so much more than a gym!

We will keep you updated in a timely manner as we continue to respond to COVID-19 in our community. Thank you for your continued support and understanding as a member of our Y family.

Please have a safe and happy Thanksgiving,

YMCA of Central New York
