Witt and JackJosh and Becky Podkaminer looked forward to their sons, Jack and Witt, going to summer camp together someday, just as Josh had as a kid. Sadly, Jack passed away just before his third birthday after a brave fight with pediatric cancer.

Jack’s Forever Fund was created so that kids like Witt can get a chance to just be a kid again. Often, when children with severe and terminal illnesses are going through treatment, siblings who have been strong and supportive brothers and sisters don’t get a chance to feel special and do all of the simple and fun activities that a kid should be able to enjoy.

That’s why the Podkaminers turned to the Y. We know how to make camp great for kids and can provide the support and community that the whole family needs. Our Camp Iroquois, located in Manlius, is here to make summer special with activities like swimming, boating, arts and crafts, horseback riding and archery for the siblings of kids like Jack, who would have loved to be a Y camp kid like his dad and brother.

With your support for Jack’s Forever Fund, we’ll be able to help more families in need during the toughest times of their lives and give more kids the gift of going to camp to just be a kid again.
