The YMCA of Greater Syracuse offers a wide range of summer Arts Camps programs for youth of all ages. Whether your child is interested in ceramics, sculpture, drawing, painting, printmaking, digital media, or a little bit of everything, we have full-day and half-day camp programs that will keep kids exploring. Guided by professionally trained artists, our campers work individually and in groups on projects that nurture their creativity and expand their artistic abilities.

Digital Photography/Storytelling Camp at YMCA Camp Iroquois
These camps are for our older campers. Digital Photography is for those who are interested in visual thinking and the world of photography. Digital Storytelling will allow the participants to create vines (6-second videos) and generate stories that are reflective and autobiographical in nature. Boating, outdoor swimming, the climbing wall and hiking are part of the schedule. Limited to 12 participants each week. Campers may sign up for both weeks. Ages 11-13. Full day, 9 AM - 4 PM.
Art Camp at the Art Park
This unique camp is located on the grounds of Stone Quarry Hill Art Park in Cazenovia. Campers will experience an intensive study in a specialized area of art each session. Activities and projects will include formal art instruction from the artists-in-residence, producing pieces inspired by the natural surroundings. Limited to 10 participants each session; campers may sign up for multiple sessions. Ages 10-14. Half day, 9 AM - 12 PM.
Teen Arts Camp
Keep your imagination alive this summer! Arts camp has expanded to include programs for our teens that have aged out of our younger programs. Each one-week session will focus intensively on a single art form. Our goal is to instill in each camper the skills needed to continue to explore the subject independently. Students will work with their own photo equipment. A few digital cameras are available. Ages 12-15. Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.
Mini Artists & Athletes
The Artists & Athletes program fits right between the end of preschool and beginning of summer! Children will explore a variety of art media and techniques, with projects including ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and more. Sports will include soccer, basketball, baseball, running and creative hand-eye coordination drills to keep children moving and learning valuable skills! Parents are welcome to leave the building and each child should bring a snack, water bottle, and be dressed appropriately for all daily activities, both arts and sports! (this means sneakers!).
